Panino’s owner’s culinary training began early as boys in Chicago; they started cooking on the weekends at their family and friends Italian restaurants
As young men Gino and Lenny Rago continued in the food industry working at a fine Italian Food Distributor learning and gaining knowledge of
Italian food products. Years later armed with more skills and dedication than ever Gino and Lenny had a dream of owning there own restaurant.
In august 1999 their dreams became reality with the opening of Panino’s Pizzeria. They had found the perfect spot at 1704 Central St in Evanston, Illinois
where they spent the next 10 years serving delicious food to their dedicated customers. They also went on to co-own Trattoria Trullo in Evanston for
3 years before selling and partnering up with Bruno Brunetti in 2003 for their next venture. As a Young man Bruno Brunetti along with his brothers started
Brunetti’s Ristorante in the Northwest suburbs. Bruno spent many successful years therebefore exploring other options. Working along with Gino and
Lenny for many years as young men, they decided to combine their knowledge and partner up,thus starting Panino’s Café & Bar in Chicago
In 2006 Bruno became partners in both the Chicago and Evanston locations. With the re-development of Central St. Panino’s owners were forced to look
for a new location. In August 2006 Panino’s Café & Bar relocated to1968 Dempster in Evanston bringing their customers the luxury of now dining in and
still receiving the same quality carry out and delivery service offeredon Central St. We believe that our menu has something to offer every one.
